ECU mount on a 74

Post by Longbeach412 »

Well, if you have been following my other posts about what my mechanic had done to my car, this won't be a surprise: Since I got the car, I've been going over everything piece by piece and correcting a lot of sloppy work. Now I find that when he was testing for non starting, he had to get to the ECU. Well, he never mounted it back properly, just left it hanging supported by the harness, and so was the relay just hanging by the ground wire. Can anybody tell me how these components mount properly on a 74, as I believe it is different from the other years. Many thanks

The relay is screwed to the top of the ECU. The ECU should have a pair of L-brackets that mount it to the steel wall behind the panel and armrest. He probably drop the screws down inside fender. The brackets attache to the side of the ECU. I will look in my book and drop sme info later. Ray
