I am building a Meyers Manxter and it uses a VW fuel tank. I would rather use a fuel cell. Have any of you road racers found a fuel cell that will replace the VW tank? Thanks.

Yes Eric thank you that does help. I take it that you put the Fuel Safe 8 gal cell in a Super Beetle? I have spoken with ATL some time back and yes, they will make a custom cell. I just thought that over the years someone had figured out which cell would replace the (Std.) Beetle tank. Anyone else?

FuelSafe now has a pattern for a long range standard Beetle cell from my commission earlier this year. It was the first ever Beetle-specific cell they had done. It's based on the factory optional 16 gallon version of the standard tank that fits in the stock location, although the bladder and aircraft style filler neck cuts it down to approximately 13 gallons.

You're certainly welcome. I had initially contacted Ron Lummus Racing and was told that such a beast was not to be found-- and they were right. I bought a new long range tank and shipped it to FuelSafe to get the balll rolling. He initially thought I wanted to have that tank bladdered, but when I clarified my desire for a custom can, they really got into it and the engineering drawings started coming through.
