I am going to start a few threads in an attempt to increase traffic to this site.

If you have any spare parts for your VW Thing that you want to sell or trade for needed parts post it here...

Thanks. More later, K-mann

Years ago when I first bought the '74, I bought a gas heater out of a '73. Who knew? Needless to say I have never installed it. It's a whole box of parts that I have recently stumbled on and meant to take pictures and put up for sale. Now I guess I have to actually do it.

Certain Thing gas heater parts are worth $.. A complete working heater is also of value. A box of parts might be worth more separated into separate offerings. Perhaps if you listed the parts you have in the box here, we could offer help with what you should ask for each of the parts for for the entire lot of parts. Also are there other parts you are seeking such as military parts that are common to the Iltis and the Thing? K-mann

I've got a complete set of front and rear doors in great shape. I also have a complete gas heater, and a working wiper motor.

My sister is visiting and has my camera, but tomorrow I will open the box up and see what's there, take pics, etc.

I don't actually have an Iltis. When I first bought the Thing a German friend of mine told me they called it an Iltis in the Fatherland, which he translated as Weasle. I thought that was pretty cool and when I finally got around to buying a computer, (I still don't have a cell phone and only one station on the TV, but I do now have a digital camera,) I decided to set myself up as Iltis74. Took a few years to realize my buddy was close, but still wrong. They are both military VW, but that's about it. Oh well, I'm used to the name. I just plumb forgot to put in the 74 when I signed on here.
