I'd be interested in seeing that picture. Everything I've ever read said that the 4-door was introduced after 1969. 1969 was only the 2-door. If you could, post that picture. If you don't have a means of posting it, email it to me and I'll post it. I'm really curious.

Hmmm... for some reason I had the impression in '69 that both 2dr. and 4dr. sedans were offered, then the wagon/variant came later? :?: (Outside the U.S. of course) In the U.S., the '71 model year had only the 4 dr. sedan and wagon, with the 2dr. 411 sedan being sold here for the '72 model year only. (Probably making it the rarest Type 4 bodystyle in North America). :?:

Hmmm.... maybe I need to start writing this stuff down. :-| I might have to do a refresher course again on the models....

Here's the picture that Albert sent me. Click on it to view the full size one I got. (I'm looking out for those on dial-up...)

I got a chuckle when I noticed that someone had blacked out the license plate, but left the reflection of the license plate on the bumper.

That's definitely a nice car, and it's a 4-door sunroof with '69 headlights.

From what I have understood...all three models were available from day one. I have never seen a single type 4 on this continenet with a sunroof...though I understand it was offered as an option.......an expensive option. That may explain the lack of it. These cars in LE trim were about $4200 in 1973. Thats more than a fully loaded Lincoln town car. The gadgets add up fast.

I have laid eyes and hands on 2 doors from 71,72, (411) and 73, 74 in 412.
I have seen 4 doors from 71 through 74. That is all years available
I have seen wagons from all years from 71 on up. Ray

yes, RAY , in 70-71 years wend i take possestion of my 411 , it was équipe with the normal option fot nort.amr. 4,d. carpet , électric rear window , carpet, and extra gaz heather in the trunk , auto, trs. and i paid 3,k200$.cdn and with my 412 74 ,,same équip. ,,the price was 5k200$cdn and for a car with dif. factory option the price was 5k500.$ to 7k000.$ and the cadillac was sale for that price ,,, that was one of the reason the car was not sale ,,

That's correct...at least: for Europa. I've got an original 1968 (dutch) folder of the 411 with all 3 models in it. I will look tonight (at home) if there were also pics with sunroof in the folder.

In my time, I have seen ONE 412 with sunroof. And I know of another one that got dismanteled, but the roof was saved and is now installed in a 412S Variant, which has not hit the streets after restoration yet.

In the folder there is no option list (and/or option pictures), so that won't answer the question.....(sorry  )

Yeah, I'd like to get the roof off of this car for future use...but even I forget, that even though Texas is relatively close, Abilene is a staggering 600mi. drive from here!
