* What are the part numbers for the front/rear turn signal lenses of a '73 412 Wagon?
* Was there just OEM units made?
* Ever see clear or smoked ones?
Thanks.

412 was mounted with clear front turnlight lenses in front, in Italy.
I have only seen 2 sets of these.
One is lying in my basement for use on my own 412, and the other set is seen on a car for sale on www.bugnet.de.
My set was purchased by a compani in Germany some yeas ago.

Best regards Frank

OEM...stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. It means that the manufacturere of a given part was one that made parts for the car company to actually put on the cars that were being produced.....as compared to aftermarket equipment manufacturers....who make accessories or replacement parts to be bought and installed after the car leaves teh assembly line. A given manufacturere can be both....and the parts can either be identical or totally different. Ray

Exactly, Italian cars should have come with clear turn signal lenses in front. If you need some new ones, check on the samba.com, I think there are some NOS available for an OK price. If you want smoked, there is at least one company that makes a spray on product specifically to smoke lenses. It works adequately from what I've seen, but looks dull. Maybe one could spray the inside of the lense in this application? I believe MattKab on here has a 411 with blacked-out lenses, maybe he can give you a clue on how it was done?

Great tip on Italian OEM (like Ray says...) clear lenses. I'm on the hunt!

Are the '73 412 lenses common to any other years?

Is the car still shown on bugnet? I don't understand German, so a link would be nice...

I'd like some too, but I suspect they will be as difficult to find as hen's teeth.

The only clear lenses I have seen here...were on a type 3 1500s I bought years ago. It also had the clear Euro side marker lights. I have never even seen them in pictures on a type 4. Ray
