Measurements of head and piston cc WBX head

According to Gowesty the WBX cc sizes are like this:
Head 15cc
head clearance volume 7cc
94mm 2,1 piston 47cc
I measured my heads and pistons to
Head 17cc (+2cc)
Piston 49cc (+2cc)
I measured by using a plexiglass plate with a little grease to seal it and filled the chamber full with water. i used stock a spark plug.
and did not use the syl/head gasket when measuring.
i used a 20ml syringe to do the measurement
Anyone else measured their heads and pistons??
this is a differenece of +4cc.
so when i'm gonna make my combustion chamber bigger 4 cc makes a difference

hey fastback it sounds like you have the MV/SS pistons, yes there were some diferances with the CC's dependent on year, i would not take the materal out of the head i would just buy some custom pistons with big dishes, i can get them made but will cost around £600 compleat.

hi there, i only sold my street engine, as the turbo system was at its limits(417bhp), im now build a system for around 600bhp mark on my race block WBX.

Marco how did you solve the head studs being corroded. We here in jamaica have some 2.1ltr around but people are afraid to use them because of that issue. Is their any solution for breaking head studs.

The head studs only corrode with poor coolant and infrequent coolant changes.. then thats when they break...
new studs are not that dear, so not a problem...

Yes i have measured the pistons from a MV engine marco.
I'm considering the 96mm Wiseco forged pistons supplied by Gowesty for my engine.
But maybe i must reconsider this after these great links.!
If the prices are correct i would order a "MV piston" forged with a little more cc in it. and keep it 94mm (2,1l)

I could be up for a set of 96mm's if the chamber is machine in, I would like to keep 9.3-9.5:1 ideally..
I would like bigger, but cyls are gonna be a problem unless someone can tell me what else could be used?

Headgasket volume is a basic calculation of volume of a cylinder.
The only thing you need to know is the installed or "crushed" thickness of the particular gasket you plan to use.

Cool. Thanks. I'll have to have one in hand I guess. But I'm thinking that an OE would be 94 mm and 0.040 thick ?
And, regarding the head, how does one cc it and then deduct for the cylinder wall thickness
Maybe I'm missing something.
