Fuse panel installation?
Hey, how does the fuse panel sit back in the under dash area? I thought it had two screws but I looked and only see three little bump stops on the edges at the top outside edges? Does it sit again the side wall or up under? bill p.s. Hey anyone see where the black with purple looking dots goes to? It has one of those weird plastic ends like the pos. ign coil lead. I can't find it in the diagram! bill

There is a plate that covers the foot-well/inner left wing. That plate is srewed in place. The heating duct from your left sill upwards to your dash is also covered by it. Hope I described it comprehensively..?
The fuse box slides into a cut-out part at the top side of the plate I described above...

If you are looking at the three pl astic bumps on each side....the metal of the panel slides through them like this.....as seen from the side.

Thanks for the info! Do the relays sit outside or inside? Hey why would the Ebrake light be on all the time? Is that a ground plug under the seats issue? What holds the gauges in? I found a blade metal with a bend and a "c" end that looks promising?? Have to look at the gauge again! Toke her up to hwy speed today 7 7.5 not revs for a short turn around and seemed not too hot after a drive down but the restart was long and sounded initially odd? Is it just valve adjustment needed or not cooling off the Cht or cold start system? It ran well and no knocks or bucks! Just some ride issues; like the gap from the strut cap bottom to top of the delrin ring is 8mm and the other goes from 4mm(frt) to 5mm but the tire to well seem simular? I drove her to the zone to get some tire stems and it was nice having it put more together and acted more like a regular driver! Need to get the fuse panel back in and the wiring back right! Need the dash cover back on and side shelf! I hope the weird start isn't a new issue! bill

Hiya Bill--
The relays that are connected to the bottom of the fuse panel slide inside the metal kickplate as you guide the fuse panel into the rectangular cutout. The fuse panel 'clicks' into the cutout and you would not even know that the relays were there. As for the gauges, I think the metal blade you are describing is the one that holds the gauges in place. Each gauge has two of them; the 'c' end has a hole in it that fits over a post on the back of the gauge and is held down by a knurled nut. The other end fits against the backside of the dash hole, of course.
I used to have a second 412 that had the E-brake light problem you describe; I always thought the cause was a bad ground somewhere but was unable to trace it before I sold the car. Assuming there is no problem with your brake system because that causes the light to go on also.

Are you speaking of the Small round light between the gauges or the square/rectangular light on the lower left below the light switch? The rectangular light that says fasten belts...can be on because your belt is not fastened....or because the plug in the back is contacting the light switch plug which has a habit of twisting around upside down when you tighten tehbexel. There is a locating bump...pressed into tehsheet metal of teh dash...that goes into teh slot of the light switch. It must be in the right place....or the light switch can rotate and short teh netire elctrical system.
If it is the round light...that is caused by either a bad pressure switch in eitehr one of your brake circuits (common)....or a bad wire between thetwo switches (common)...or air in either circuit (common). Ray
