Electrical Connectors

Post by dphdo »

Greetings all! OK, Where can I buy electrical connectors for my 412s? Specifically, I need the ones that are half the width of the standard push on connectors (1/4"???) - the ones that attach to such things as the lights in the speedometer and clock. Please don't say anywhere locally because I live here in "Hooterville" and the selection is sparce. Also, I've seen posts for some kind of "Fancy-Dancy" crimper - Ray, I think it was you, but when I went to the web site, there were 8 billion different choices. Which do you reccomend for that "Fresh factory look?" You said they cost about $100.00 if that helps. Thanks!

SMILES!

Yes, a lot of the "real" stock connectors like that....are at the dealer still. If teh VW dealer does not stock them any longer (like the ones around here)....the volvo and Saab dealers usually do. Also...there is someone back in a thread two years ago that stocks almost all of the connectors. Something....German ...Auto... ...sorry.

There are numerous crimpers on the Palladin web-site that will work. You only need teh basic adjustable crimper frame. I think it is the 3200 series. To do everything in teh car including your small terminals and fuel injection....you only need two sets of dies. Thos e run between 18 and 30 bucks each. I will drop in all of the parts and die numbers tommorrow.
This tool is worth every penny. It crimps both the wire section and the little strain relief...perfectly just like factory. It has adjustable depth and pressure. Ray
