Re: SHES ALIVE!!!!...now tranny question
I warned you about cars long sitting. Things this could be:
(1) Loose torque converter bolts whacking on the engine housing...check them its common.
(2) Check your gear oil section in teh differential for mixing of tranny fluid. The seals between the diff and transfer case MUST be replaced every 7 years or 70K miles.
(3) It could very commonly just be one of several mounting points being bad...either upper tranny to cross member ear bushings, rear hanger bar bushings in center or at ends, or tail cone bushing.
When you put it in gear the drivetrain package shifts....and with a bad bushing....common when they sit around for ages....its probably just something coming metal to metal.
I need a better description than 'clinking". Ray

Re: SHES ALIVE!!!!...now tranny question
im having trouble uploading videos at ANY website
i will probably call you tomorrow when im out there so you can here it
i took a video and i dont see anything moving but its just a vid pointing at the tranny where you can see the fly wheel
if you give me your email
where i can send them
maybe you can post them for me
and when i take it back out of gear
it Does Not stop immediately
it takes a second to stop the noise
and the sound almost fades
i need to take the brake valve off the back
clean it out
and put the MC back in
If i can get the brakes Half ass
then i can get it towed to a tranny shop
im going to look at the manuals and see if i can get a good idea of what it is
also will a local place have n alternator belt??

Re: SHES ALIVE!!!!...now tranny question
ok
DUH!!!!
so i was playing with the 411s engine today
put a fuel pressure guage in it and checked around a bit
when i rev the engine i hear the Clink like i was describing from the tran
but its ever so often
played around a bit more
and found that the A/C compressor was 1/8" away from the bottom hanger
while i was under there
i cut the belt to it and
sliced a small piece of fuel line open
and cradled the bottom of the compressor pulley
and TADA
no more clink
at all
even with the tranny in D
moved her up a spot and back a spot a couple times
now i need the brakes finished
