need serious Help with wiper & headlight switches

Post by Darryl Castone »

So i had to take out my dashboard to my car some months back.
i have two separate bundles of wires that belonged to the wipers and the headlight switches.
my GF lost the paper i had that would show me which wire went where when it came to re-attaching everything.
so i've since figured out how to reattach my gauge's wires for the most part.
i really need to test to see if my wipers and headlights are working themselves &/or if the old fuse box set up i have needs replaced. but before i can do that i'd like to just get these switches hooked back up to see for now if my wiper motor is busted and same for my headlights.

the pictures below are my switches. so maybe someone can show me what the connectors on these switches mean and what wires would need to go where?????

Thanks!

Below you'll notice 3 connectors on the left and two on the right but there is one at the bottom in between, it's just horizontal so.. in case you didn't notice. :D

First, that's not a VW headlamp switch...perhaps it's from some GM product.

30 on the wiper switch is power in from the fuse (black wire)
31 on the wiper switch is ground (brown wire)
53 is the black wire between switch and wiper motor, for low speed
53b (black/yellow-stripe) is for high speed
53a (black/violet-stripe) and 31b (brown) are for the park function
