My idea is to sandblast some body panels and then over grind them like a shiny new metal but it has to be covered with something.
the shiney metal must be seen.
I heard that typical lacquer is not good for metal and works on the paint only
What to do or what to use?
Thank you.
Can I cover the sheetmetal with lacquer?

whatever you use for large areas has to be a 'direct to metal' product. very few automotive paints are, no clears that i have found and not all primers are. etch primer ( contains an acid ) is, some primers and some industrial coating are. here's the good part though, as far as i know all epoxies are direct to metal and they do make clear epoxies. i think you can get some at lowes (its not intended for automotive use but its an epoxy and shouldnt matter ) i dont know how or if it sprays well though. i havent found any but i know there is direct to metal clear out there because they clear aluminum wheels...
