Ol'fogasaurus wrote::) It is currently in the low 20 and snowing in the PNW. Up here if it isn't raining the fog is out while in the sunny SW I am sure it is chain or wire rope season. While painting small stuff, I used to hang things off any where in the garage I could find; e.g., door handles, the rails for the garage door, my wife when I could get her to stop long enough, etc. Yesterday I was able to get some painting done after the snow, rain, sleet, hail had stopped and while the sun was out ( temp in the low 20's) then bring them back in and hang them on my stand to dry. It is really too cold in the garage (mid 40's) for them to dry correctly so there is a skim coating on them and the under the surface paint is still only partly cooked. :D

Actually, the stand has turned out better than I thought; it is still light enough to move easily, strong enough for a lot of things hanging, the base is heavy enough to hang some pretty heavy stuff on like a couple of trailing arms and backing plates. The angle pieces I added to hang to worked out better than I thought and without a lot of holes, this allows me to slide the hangers (bent welding rod) around to adjust for air drying room. I still have some holes for the really heavy stuff that I want to keep in a set position so I am very happy with it. A picture to follow. 8)
Powder Coating. Beats Paint by a mile. And you can do it at home fairly cheap. (well,.... you CAN do it cheap, I have over $10k in coating equipment now.... after 3 years of a "hobby" and looking to upgrade soon.) You only need to cool things down when done curing. No dry time. Handle it as soon as it's cool. Install it and go.

I built this tubing roller a few years ago. The rollers can be adjusted up or down to fit thicker/thinner tubing. Has a bottle jack on one of the outside rollers.

Here's a piece I bent with it, 16 guage .5 x 1.5" rectangular steel tubing, needed to make a roof skin brace for a home-made targa top '78 Camaro. Notice that the tubing is curved in both directions.

I also welded up this stand for our shrinker/stretcher:

I posted this a couple of years ago. It's a homemade jack scale.

Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

I like this a lot, It's so annoying having to drag the jack across bumpy surfaces, could even make a low profile one for lowered cars...

Are you using a hydraulic/pneumatic adaptation to power that thing? or using the slow "pump it up" method? Nice adaptation either way.

Pretty cool.
I wonder if it has a stop/stiff leg of some sort at the front axle.
If not the jack might topple over if a tire blew out.
I assume they are pneumatic.........look so anyway........ 8)
