Making a little bit more progress

Post by harryset »

I've been idle on my '72 project this summer, mostly because of family stuff and the fact that I amputated the end of one of my index fingers. Here's my latest, along with some questions.

Putting in some sound deadening
1st layer is Damplifier Pro, from second skin

Followed by a layer of Luxury Liner Pro in the center pan areas and the rear cargo area

Roof area I used the Damplifier Pro covered by a layer of carpet padding - Nice thud when thumping on the roof.

I am getting ready to install the headliner, I have watched the video from J-Bugs a hundred times and I think I'm brave enough to give it a go now.

I am currently stumped as to all of the areas that still need padding. . . I know that the B pillars get covered, and an area behind the quarter panels. What about over the windshield in the visor area, over the rear quarters, under the rear quarters, over the door areas???

If anyone has pictures showing any of this, I'd be greatful.

I'm kind of stuck on deciding how much and where to put in padding around the rear quarter windows, so I have started working on the new dash install. I have figured out how the vent pieces go together and have them in place, just waiting to cut out the dash for the gage installs.
