Re: Problem of the day. Post it up!
I bumped the boost up to 12psi yesterday and found both my Dell 40s leaking quite a bit of fuel from the throttle shafts. I'd seen a slight dribble from them @ 8psi, but it's much worse now @ 12. All the "sealed ball-bearings" are new, so it's either a poor seal on the O.D. of the bearings into the carb bodies, or the quality of the seals is on par with most other replacement parts these days . They both have machine-in inner shaft seals too, which all leak as well...replacements were NLA when I rebuilt the carbs recently...
I'm working on making my first cruise in this thing next weekend, with a 3,000ft. elevation gain & 125mi round trip. If the engine survives this "cruise", it deserves to be converted to EFI...

Wow, I just looked and I haven't posted since 2008! My problem? I got chunks in the valve cover Big chunks that aren't from the heads I pulled the sump cover and found more big chunks. Some are magnetic and some look like thumbnall sized pieces of the case. Ran good and had oil pressure when I parked it two weeks ago. My first guess is lifter and lifter bore.
Its been a good run. The case is over a decade old and has always had at least 120hp running through it in various configurations with the Engle W130? and 1.25 ratio rockers. I've been running Brad Penn oil and STP zddp additive since I rebuilt it the last time when I added the hide away turbo system. I'm beginning the teardown, so we'll see for sure soon enough.

It *deserved* EFI from the jump, but it's owned by a procrastinator.

^ mines not so much a procrastination issue, but an attention span issue. Before I'm even done with one project, I'm thinking about selling its parts to chase my newest idea LOL

I have a problem trying to adjust my fuel pressure to the desired 43.5 psi, I can adjust it to about 32# Max before it jumps passed the rest of the numbers and pegs at Max pressure. I changed the regulator because I thought it was that, but same problem.
Any suggestions?

Do you have a pic of how you have the regulator plumbed and what regulator are you using? Is your return restricted somewhere?
