Chenowth Explorer A-Arm Build

Offroad VW based vehicles have problems/insights all their own. Not to mention the knowledge gained in VW durability.

Got the coilovers mounted in the back and was able to check suspension at ride height and full compression. I need to lower the front a little to make everything match up.

One more...

Next is to lower the front arm mounts 2.5 inches and add the air bump stops to the rear.

Niiiice!
How much pressure are you putting in those front shocks?
What springs are you running on the rear?

The fronts are empty right now for fabrication purposes. Once I get further along, I will charge them up and start experimenting. As for the rear, I have 350/450 springs. FOA just rebuilt and revalved them.

6" to the rear torsion and 9" in the front. Once I get the bump stops in place, that might pick up just a bit.

I will post up tomorrow with my recent progress. I just returned from Pacific Customs with a whole box of fabrication goodies and a new Odyssey battery. Also called FOA today and ordered a new set of 10" coilovers for the front. Looks like my Fox air shocks will be headed over to the "For Sale" section!

Did you try the shocks first?
Better destroy that picture before the wife finds out that you put those parts on her washing machine.

I havent tried the air shocks yet, but I wanted coilovers for the adjustability anyways.

As for the wife...I am always in trouble for tearing up washing machines, kitchen knives and scissors...
