Snap Ring Tool?

Post by Max Welton »

What is your favorite tool for the snap-ring on a type-1 crank up near the cam drive gear?

This one just isn't cutting it.

I actually brought the crankshaft with me into the store. Much easier to explain what I needed that way. Turns out the owner was once an A&P mechanic.

When in doubt... that's the way to do it and be sure.

yeap, I think mine is crapsman? works good enough! basically identical to that, sometimes it likes to twist on heavy springs, but it gets the job done. Also makes a good distributor drive gear removal tool.
give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.

Things are rarely just crazy enough to work, but they're frequently just crazy enough to fail hilariously.
