Have a 70 Ghia that's great 'cept for the fact that the 165R15 tire ALMOST fits in it's spare slot. This fouls the hood unless I let alot of the air out of the tire....
Is there a narrower tire I can get that would fit better in the slot and still serve as a reasonable spare?
Thanks,

use a stock rim with a 135-15 tire. use only as a temporary fix.Although,I don't have any problems with a 165-15 in my 71.ARE you sure nothings blocking the spare from sitting down in their?

I agree with Mr. Dreams, I never had a problem fitting my 165'd 4.5"er in my spare well. If it still persists then certainly slap a 145 or 135 on there
