Do you know what backspacing those guys are running.
I checked Centerline's site and the only backspacing they list is 3-5/16"
I have 5- 1/2" Mangels and they have 4-1/4" backspacing. I do have the longer axles in the rear and they clear the fenders(wings) with just enough room to spare.
The front would have required completely removing the lip on the fender and still would have provided rubbing issues.
Hi JWP, Not of the top, but i have those type wheels at the 'shop, they are a rip off centreline, i can measure for you but not until monday, i know they go right on, i've used them with a 20mm spacer and had to roll the lip somewhat on the front, its worth the work, the b/j cars work well with all the front width they can get, subject to scrub radius being tolerable.
If you have time this weekend that would be appreciated. I do want to lighten my rolling stock.
My other plan at this time is when my current rotors wear out or I run out of patience for the stock wheels I am going to switch to 4 lug GM pattern rotors
Weld offers their drag star in a 15x6 and 7 both under 13 lbs and in 4.5 and 5.5 backspacing respectively. This will let me run 205/50 and 225/45 tires as I desire.
However that means when it's time to upgrade i'll be in it for about 2k when its all said and done...ouch.
Yes, 205/50/15 on a 7" work very well, i know 2000 bucks sounds a lot, but wheels/tyres/setup add more lap time then spending the same on a motor, assuming said motor is already performing.
i run a 1" stretched axle with a new 2" stretched one in build, i had to stretch the fenders to clear, and need a further stretch for the new axle, i faired the gaps in at the front as seen here, and vented the rear into the low pressure behind the fender.https://sphotos-a-lhr.xx.fbcdn.net/hpho ... 8079_n.jpg
