mig welding galvanised steel

does anyone know if there's a special wire for mig welding galvanised steel ??
i have arc electrodes for galv, but i have a LOT of galv welding in my future

Galvanized material produces toxic fumes, and is messy. Ventilation, protective equipment, etc will help a lot.

Galvanization also melts and can drip on you, especially if you are doing welding above you, so you can expect nasty burns besides inhaling the fumes. Try to add a fan far enough a way from you to blow the fumes away from you but not enough to blow the shielding gas away and use a respirator under your mask.

I've welded a bunch of galvanized steel. I just grind off the galvanizing where I'm going to weld and use regular wire and gas. try not to breathe the smoke, I weld it outside. some people weld through the galvanizing but it makes the weld weak and splatters a lot.

What will you be welding?

i'm in the welding shop on a kibbutz in the negev desert in israel, there's mostly galv steel here as it sits outside
i am well aware of the gas, and extra sparks etc, i have z26 electrodes for galv steel, but with the amount of welding there is mig would save me hours
