Where can I get an accurate Tire Pressure Gauge?

For road racing, autocrossing, or just taking that curve in style. Oh yea, and stopping!

Where can I get an accurate Tire Pressure Gauge?

Post by Jim Ed »

I have found that Tire Pressure Gauges can be off by as much as 2 p.s.i. as compared one to another.
Where can I get an accurate Tire Pressure Gauge?
I was thinking of this one:

I got a low pressure guage from an industrial supply store years ago (only goes to 25 or 30) since they speck out the guarenteed accuracy. Try mcmaster and grainger, and just screw on an adapter to use it on tires.
give a man a watch and he'll allways know what time it is. give him two and he can never be sure again.

Things are rarely just crazy enough to work, but they're frequently just crazy enough to fail hilariously.

I use a "SLIME" brand unit, brass, has a pressure release pushbutton on the side, <$10.
Mine is accurate, 0-60 psi/0-4 bar. Others report issues w/accuracy... but read on.

Looks like a mechanical gauge with a 1.5" brass tire adapter bit.
(It is. looks like 1/8 npt)

For the price, buy it and replace the Chinese gauge if needed, the brass part is what makes it a tire gauge..

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

0-60 is overkill when you're seldom if ever going to inflate beyond 32. Here's an inexpensive option, no doubt made in China like most but I'd expect it to be better than Harbor Freight:
