fuel blowing up into air filter!

Post by jifop »

Hey chaps, thanks for all the help so far but I'm hoping once again you can pass on some knowledge to me!

I've got a solex twin pdsit 36-40 setup on my type 3 and I noticed last week that the air filter horn above one carb is very fuely with a film of petrol on it whereas the other is nice and clean! I assume that one carb is spitting it back up!

I assume this isn't normal but what should I do about it?

Thanks again!

You might want to check your valve adjustment.

If an intake valve is too tight it could be giving excessive fuel reversion due to cylinder pressure getting pushed back up the intake past the slightly open intake valve.
