Hi Pete,
Being in Oz, if the track is wet, do you have to run it clockwise?
(inside joke)
PS: Great day at the races. Congrats.

Lol, yeah something like that.
Got the results today. 20th outright out of 42 starters! 10th in class in the most popular class too. I'm pretty happy with that. Halfway up the field with no power, no LSD and no anti roll bars.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Hi Pete,
You know how to swing that Bug's rear end around a cone!
Just do a bit of fine tuning with what you have (more tire pressure, larger main or idle jet on a single bbl Solex, and a bit more timing advance) and become an expert driver before buying any hot rod parts.
You'll know when the time comes. You'll be faster than the car.

Thanks FJ. Spent a few years doing khanas in my old buggy, but this is a bit of an adjustment.
Truthfully, the sun is already setting on that motor. It's a very tired and oily judsoned 40 horse 1200. It's not got any more left in it. I just top the oil up in it.
I'm already starting upgrades including; stock width front beam (this is narrowed 40mm) with discs, all new pins and sway bar; Late AB swing trans with superdiff and billet sidecovers; I'm just waiting for the motor to get finished... 1600cc, AMR500 blower with 9psi of boost, water to air intercooler and Megasquirt fuel and spark.

have you tried to lower the front tire pressures? 32 psi sounds really high

Not really, it's a regularly road sort of pressure and I didn't want to roll the tyres off the rims in tight corners. I could go a little lower next time I guess though... Say 28psi.

You won't be too far off with the high front pressures, just do what you feel it needs, I run the fronts harder than the rears to bring the temperature into the zone, right front I run a super soft compound, sometimes even that won't come in.
