Newbie!

Post by KarmannMarco »

I have a 1969 Ghia that I'm trying to get to run again as a daily driver when the weather permits.
1500 SP with dual baby 34s everything else still slow and stock. It's running good right now but I still got some bugs to work out.
I bought it as a very damaged car one ding away from the scrapyard and iv'e since touched about every inch of the body.
Dents all over needed to be hammered out , pans were a holy mess , the whole front clip was mangled , pushed back 6 inches from a prior accident and the nose was cut to be made look like a Volvo P1800. Not to mention about 20 lbs of bondo.
It's now 90% done body wise ( i need a couple of small patch panels and some massaging) and with a paintjob it should look pretty good once again.
I'm in the Italian car restoration business and 100% concourse original correctness is something we really feel strongly about and when it comes to my not so rare Ghia I enjoy being free to to upgrade and change the car as I want it and the fantastic Samba crowd often makes me feel like im at work. Not much is cooler then a correct all original Lowlight Ghia but I wanted to try this forum out to see If it can be a bit more relaxing here. After all no matter if its for a concourse lawn or a race track we are all here for the same reason....we love our VWs! (on most days)
Anyways...Here's some pictures. Befores and after.
