I'd get a set of good H4 headlights. I replaced the stock lights in my bug with them, and daaaaamn.

At the same time you're doing the light conversion, check the condition of your cars wiring and electrical system to make sure all is working at its best. You wouldn't put a big cam and dual carbs on an old worn out engine, would you? Clean all wire terminals, check the votage regulator, etc. If you haven't done so already, switch out that generator for an alternator.

70'140, where did you get them, and how much? The ones I've seen locally have been quite pricey.

It's not the flat but the European fluting design that makes the H4's have such good lighting quality. I beleive Street Beat Customs sells H4's that are rounded like sealed beam units for that vintage look. I think the rounded profile looks better on the Ghia.

And while your at it anyway, why don't you just re-build the whole car, paint, upholstery, the works, even if it doesn't need it. LOL

My point was that if you aren't getting adequate power to the lights, it doesn't matter what kind you have. But, your advice is MUCH better!
