About to install New bushing in my trailing arms.
But these seems to be different from the stock ones sine they have "internat slots" .
So i asume they go in a specified way.
Bently does not mention anything about this (most likely because the stock ones does not have these slots)
Slots up/down or front/back?

Alloy Porsche 944 arms?
I've only worked with steel (bug style) 944 arms. I used a chatter gun to push the old bushing out, polished the race up, then slid new sway a way bushings into place with anti seize on the OD.

Re: Irs inner trailing arm bushing
The slots are in the rubber inside the bushing. So the external diameter is the same. But they will behave different depending on which way i mount them

I always just use urethane, haven't installed new rubber bushings. Check the 944 manual :p

Re: Irs inner trailing arm bushing
944 Haynes checked but those bushings are not the same anyway. Checked my urtehane bushings but the inner race is a bad fit so they gave a lot of play between the big bolt and the race. The rubber vw ones are a tight fit.

Hey Fasty, hope yer doin' good, maybe you have a bad set, do you mean the sleeve is slack in the bushing? I find urathane veries wildly in tolerances being out, try another set of genuine Sway Away bushes? Regards, BBB.

Re: Irs inner trailing arm bushing
thx fine BBB , how are you?
the sleeve has to big ID , making it too loose for the bolt.
so anyone mountyed these rubber ones ?

think i'll go for the mounting position in the 1. picture.

Good too thxs mate, . Is this for the Fasty or the mad bus? I seem to remember coming accross this onetime, the T1 bolt has a bigger shank then the Porsche bolt, that may be A solution for you. BBB.

Re: Irs inner trailing arm bushing
oh, it's a new project , trackcar 1302 "superbeetle" with a Honda 1000RR SC59 motorcycle engine, mounted in the backseat ,chaindrive , flappypadel gearing , turbo eventually etc
i'll like some "flex" in the bushings , so that's why i go for the rubber ones
from what i have found out , the construction of the pivot points in the vw/porsche rear trailing arm ,"are as they are". adjusting toe etc must have some flex in the bushings, also in combination with a uniball setup replacing the springplate
