I'm getting ready to install some lexan windows on the Squarsche (in the rear 5 windows) and am a bit concerned about longevity. Since plastic windows scratch so easily, has anyone used a clear film on the outside (like lamination material) as a sacrificial layer to protect the windows beneath?? I'd like to hear what others have done to get some life out of them.
BTW, I'm installing mine like a stock window in OEM rubbers, NOT screwing them in flush like on a typical race car.

Re: Protecting Lexan Windows
I know you can buy hard coated sheet (one or two sides) but as to what films may work instead no idea.
Pricey.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Re: Protecting Lexan Windows
Macrolon AR is our trade name for marr risistant lexan in the UK, 6mm works well for screens and fit in the stock window seal well, mine is many years old but I do look after it, hardly ever use the wiper in races, plenty of rainex outside and anti fog inside, fogging can be a problem with plastic Windows, just treat inside often in the wet season.http://www.aetnaplastics.com/products/d/makrolon
