Super Vanagon
Most people think I'm nuts when I tell them what I have done to try to keep my fith Vanagon motor from overheating. After I had Mark Stephens rebuild my 2.0 up to nearly 2.3 I bought a couple of large new style external oil coolers with thermo and fans, split the fan housing and cleaned off 1/4 inch of dirt oil and grime then sand blasted and powder coated the inside (and outside of fan housing). Bought dual head temp gauges air/fuel ratio gauge, tachometer, oil pressure and oil temp gauges. Replaced fuel injection with dual Weber 44's and welded every crack and tear in the air ducts. If this doesn't work I will buy a water cooled American Camper van of some sort.
