electrical nightmare

Post by fastmatt1 »

I just purchased my first bus! a '64 partially camperized panel. It needed a little TLC, brakes, tune-up, hours of cleaning, and most the wires put back together under the dash. No problem I thought there is only what 15-20 wires down there how hard can it be????
The first problem I have is that when I turn left my hazards go on and when I keep all the wires connected to the emergancy flasher relay it flashes all the time even when the key is out of the ignition.
Any electrical wizards have any good ideas?

You'll need to find a book with a typ II wiring diagram , the '64 came with ICC hazard flashers and the turn signals are always ' live ' - leave 'em on with the key off and battery will eventually go dead .I seem to recall only the rear lamps flash when using the hazard lights - wierd .
it's fairly simple just take your time and connect one wire at a time , I usually take the book and copy the diagram , enlarging it as big as I can , that way you can actually read it , small numbers and all .
