If JB Weld doesn't do the trick, that's my next option.

Hot, humid air is less dense than cooler, drier air. This can allow a golf ball to fly through the air with greater ease, as there won't be as much resistance on the ball.

He is just ID'ing the axle housing.
The tube itself is the same length from the tranny to the spring plate.
