Hi all. I'm looking to do a stock rebuild on a 73 1700 motor in my Westy. I'm using Tom Wilson's book, the Muir book, and the Haynes(poo). I haven't been able to get the Bentley yet. Any tips, tricks, or things that might be missed by these resources? Thanks for any info!

Kev, my choice would be Tom Wilson and Bug Me Video Vol#8.Forget Muir. The video is great for a total teardown and assembly of a stock type 4 engine. Good luck. Bob Ingman

The Wilson book is the best! But it lacks information on the tinware. For the tinware information the Bentley is the best.

You can toss the Haynes and Muir right out the window.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll look into the video and definitely take the others(except Wilson book) with a grain of salt!
