My cage builder had some more tubes fitted :D

There are door bars, tunnel bars and upper coilover mounts to do before fully welding the entire thing. Body will be lifted a bit to do the tops.

Yeah, I agree. Why can't cage builders position those bars against the pillars? Then you could ty/weld the cage the body and make the whole car structually even more rigid.

Which bars are you referring to Walter?

A and B pillars mostly. I think for that 'streetcar feel' the inboard positioning of the bars that run along the A-pillar in the cabin would benefit most if the they would be closer to the outer shell of the car.
Its very common as it is now though, but I always wondered what the reason behind this was?

Be able to lift the body off.. Because of the ladder bar tubes between the main hoop, I can't have the main hoop or the A pillar bars on the sills. It need to clear the body. So it can be lifted some cm to have the cage fully welded.

Tying the cage to the body with dimpled plates etc is not legal (I believe?) in drag racing?

Latest bars to join the car is the FIA mentioned "D-bars" from the main hoop to the floor.

We wanted to have them welded to the upper ladder bar tube, but weren't allowed. 1 bar could not do 2 things? Never heard of that rule..
