Re: Turbo/EFI Baja
Buggy,
From what I can gather once the ECU sees ground it will activate for example launch control.

I mean are you going to use a button, or a limit switch... Or...

It's that simpleSchweg wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 3:36 amChip- are you saying that I do not need to supply 12vdc to the switch then to the ECU?Chip Birks wrote:All but one input on that Pro just want a ground. For a $2 project I’m happy. I was missing parts for my knock sensor, or my traction control sensor.
Can anyone clarify that for launch control it’s 12vdc to a digital input and the MS3 provides ground?
Thanks

Basically your saying that if the ECU gets grounded on a pin then that alone will activate what I would like to activate?
Thanks for clarifying, I feel dumb right now.

However, i would recommend running all switched grounds to the same lug that the rest of the ecu is grounding to.

Micro switch stealing the idea from Chip. I’ll post it up maybe tonight or find a link to his.
Thanks for the information everyone

I think that's what I'm going to do too. I would also like it to activate a line lock.

Agreed, put that one under a finger.

Re: Turbo/EFI Baja
I have my 2step button on my steering wheel, left side spoke.
Just a +12 that goes to a switch and then grounds in the ecu. Works like a charm.
And my line lock is the stock Hurst switch on my gene berg shifter.
The line lock has nothing to do with my ecu.

Re: Turbo/EFI Baja
Yeah that might cause a little trouble!
Could it work together with launch with a brake switch? Hit the brake, get it to the set rpm/launch setting, then let off the brake and it would hold until launch control was deactivated?
Edit: maybe that wouldn't be a great idea for the burnout. Wouldn't be able to roll out of a burnout that way I guess.

Re: Turbo/EFI Baja
I have my clutch switch for launch, its active till the clutch is released, then full rpm after the initial hit. Allows to build boost on the line, also holds the rpm and boost to a specific limit, around 6500, and whatever the flavor of the day is for boost. Then I have a switch built into my steering wheel that activates the line loc and a different limiter specifically for burnouts. I limit to like 5500 for those, as well as spring pressure.buguy wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 11:03 am Yeah that might cause a little trouble!

Re: Turbo/EFI Baja
The MS3 has the functionality to run what your talking about for the same switch I was just reading a post about it.
You have to set it up to three step: so burn out, launch control, normal limiter.

Re: Turbo/EFI Baja
2 step and 3 step need separate switches. 2 step and flat shift use the same switch.

I maybe misinterpreting this post but it sounds similar to what buguy is looking to do.
At least it makes sense in my head

Re: Turbo/EFI Baja
Doesn't work for the 3 step, only launch, though you could probably get it to work with the line loc. It couldn't be used with a clutch switch though. I went with the 2 seperate systems for 2 reasons, it allowed for different limiters, and one cuts spark while retarding timing to build boost, the other doesn't.Schweg wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2019 12:22 pm http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=71654
