I vote no on the flip front. I love to see fenders and a hood on a drag car. Even the fast ones.

Tilt frontends were there for a reason... easy access to the front mounted engine with the no hood and fenders in the way.

Tilting the hood and fenders forward also gave the air over the surface the ability to hold down the hood and fenders (supposedly anyway) down at speed and not allow the hood to raise at speed.

The mounting and weight of the fenders I'm pretty sure were lighter (but how much) but then there is the cost. None or difficult to mount street legal front bumpers?

'Sa trade off as far as I can tell. Not sure of the roof rack when racing and the display model is even more distracting when racing    .

Except for the bandages a nice looking bug.

It needs a front apron, spare wheel well and a new hood.

But the main attraction for me is easy access.

2 fuel pumps, 1 water pump, 2 master cylinders and 4 liquid tanks..

Sooo easy to just remove the front and go to work :)

Have a few options. A fibreglass or a carbon one..

Problem building a car in Norway is that EVERYTHING is expensive. Add shipping and 25% import tax on all the parts you buy

But yeah.. Good steel is expensive also"

Had the car outside before I tore the body off..

It had a slight camber, so it needed to get a raise in the back. This was also before I did the 5’’ axles

Looks great man! Keep the hood and fenders, aka no flip front, this is so much more radical!
