I have never heard of hydro locking with a vehicle when at a sitting, engine stopped position but I guess it is possible (how is the fuel drawn into the combustion chamber and would more than one cylinder then be affected.

There used to be setups where they "cross-fired" an engine so two cylinders fired at the same time... usually a "torque use" situation. There are also "hit and miss" fired engine setups. I've seen at least one of them running before... very weird to see and hear run.).

I've only seen (the awful results such as horribly bent up rods) or heard of it on a running vehicle but then I haven't seen or heard of everything either. Usually I have heard of it happening with an ignition failure type of situation when fuel is being drawn into a non-firing car.

Anyway, I only posted the "hydro locking" as info because something was said that keyed a long forgotten memory. Sorry.

Old carb engines, yeah no problem just park on the wrong angle and you could siphon enough fuel to lock it up
Happened to my beetle last year before I sold it. The fuel filter disintegrated, junk jammed open an injector and #1 cylinder filled with fuel while it was parked. The motor wouldn't turn over. I'll say this though, all that fuel in the oil totally cleaned up the inside of the motor. The heads looked brand new when pulled the rocker covers. 😊

Normally the filter in the injector would catch that Pete

Front cleaned up, rust welded and primer added.

At the rear the scatter shield is moved and only lacks the top brace

Thanks :)

Scatter shield is a must when tagging it to 8.50's.

Body is being lifted on this Saturday. Will be good seeing it in one package again :)

Here its mandatory on rear engined turbo cars faster then 11's iirc...

It’s probably the same in Norway..

Turned the chassis around today and got some welding done on the gear rod tunnel. The rest I can do with the body on!

Need some inspiration

It's going somewhere :)

I need to extend the flat surface against the A-pillar seam about 2-3cm, so I'm planning to glue a 2mm sheat of plexiglass on the backside of the front, that exstends 3cm behind the existing edge, and either glue a strips of premade fiberglass to the plexiglass plate, or glassing the edge myself.
