'74 HD tranny mounts?
Wasn't sure where to post this but I have a '74 ghia that I'm doing a turbo motor for and was looking for some HD mounts but I don't see anything available post '72. What are you guys running? I like the idea of the CB HD mounts but not available for my year. Should I just change to the older style rear mounts by changing to the older style crossbar?? Thanks for your time.

How wild of a turbo build are you going with? Strip? Street?

The setup is pretty wild, 2180, ball bearing 58/55, fueltech injected but honestly its a street car. It had blown out mounts when I got it and the 1835 shook around in there alot! I'm going to have this big turbo hanging off the engine and inside the trunk so I was looking to stifffen up the motor mounts some but I dont plan on running huge HP numbers...

You're going to want the earlier mount and not the late model with thick rubber mounts.
I'd probably research some way to stiffen the frame horns as well. Truss or Kafer bar or engine support bar, whatever is your preferred method and able to work with your car.

Can you use the CB Rhino mounts???
I just installed them on my buggy this winter and have 300 miles on them.
I had bought them last year but when they arrived I didn't really like them. I ended up buying some HD mounts but they weren't that great either so I finally installed the Rhino's. My original HD mounts lasted about 15 years until they seemed a little compressed. So far the Rhino mounts seem to work good.
I also run a bolt on Mid Mount that is pretty tight to the bottom of the frame horns. My front mount is a standard HD mount.
I also run a Truss kit from the frame horns to the shock mounts. Everything is pretty solid and I am putting out right around 200 whp.

If you have a IRS transaxle then maybe the Stiffy is a better way to do at is has an extra connection to the trailing arm pivot. For swing axle then the commercial bolt in units may be OK but again... brutality to the car can negate that too.
Depending on the shock you are using the bolt (with some shock their design dictates a longer bolt than what comes with the kit) through the shock towers might be a bit too long and could end up breaking the shock tower eyes off (I have seen that with off-road rigs and dropping the hammer on th e street all the time). This style uses combination spacers and shock eye adapters causing the bolt to be over 6" long which can put a lot of torque to the upper shock mount eye.
If you have a cage then the connection might be to the cage down bars where they connect to the body but when using a glass body then it might be a no to that!
