It’s just a 12v to 5v power supply.
It’s running a Raspberry Pi computer to a 7” touch screen.
But you could use the power supply to charge a tablet.

Raspberry Pi sounds like something i would put whipped cream on! I'm old and don't know what any of that stuff is. I read a bit about it before but never really got into it. I ask because when i bought my new phone i got a tablet with it for free.

Re: Turbo/EFI Baja
I wouldn’t eat it! But if you can put in EFI the Raspberry Pi is relatively simple I like it only cause I’m not worried about someone see it and trying to lift it.
Need some thoughts from the group. I got my 850cc injectors in. I know they are huge, I updated my basic set up but it is massively rich across the board. Idle is fine. But any load in a higher gear puts me into the 10/11:1 afr range. Drove about 30 min with Autotune on easy and got it drivable off boost / low boost.
If I try and push anything above 8 pounds it falls on its face super rich.
I can hand tune the map as it seems on normal autotune is not pulling fuel.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Turbo/EFI Baja
If the amount of fuel required to add or remove is outside the parameters set in autotune then it won't adjust it , you need to go in and manually get it closer.
You did enter the new injector details into the software didn't you?

Thanks!!
I did put the info into the basic setup.
Well I am not sure how close I will get it but its a place to start for sure.

Just deduct something like 20% from the numbers and give it a try....
Just make sure you use the "Save As" feature.

I would make sure to save the old set up first in case it doesn't work out and you need the old injectors back in too.
That's weird though. Mine apparently make the correct adjustments when i out the 850's in. It may not have been perfect but it was pretty close.

I have the old tune saved as a separate project incase I need to swap back. I think I can get it once I pull a lot out of it and let autotune work.buguy wrote:I would make sure to save the old set up first in case it doesn't work out and you need the old injectors back in too.

Not a bad thing I wanted to get better at tuning any way

Agreed. That's what i miss the most with my car being down. I enjoy messing with the tune.

Re: Turbo/EFI Baja
Also on a more serious hardware note, the compound set up is on hold and I’m not sure for how long!
I tried to mount the 9b and I made my mount way too high! Also after looking at the needed re-piping for exhaust and Intercooler I’m not sure when I will get it completed how I would like.
So I can let the compound idea go... or pipe it without an Intercooler.
I am not a fan of either option. So... I’m left to ponder.
Any thoughts?

Sometimes you have to ponder whether it's worth the money, time and energy to change something that works pretty good.
I'm at the same point with my Holset upgrade.......

If.... I had a cam and results similar to yours I’m not sure I would want to mess with it!Clonebug wrote:Sometimes you have to ponder whether it's worth the money, time and energy to change something that works pretty good.

But... I don’t and enjoy welding and pushing this engine.
To be honest our conversations are what got me back on the compound path.. in that boost (to a point) is a large equalizer, and your most cost effective power increase. Also if I had an HY like you do I would have run it already.
But we all enjoy this hobby as we get to work on our vehicles and try things all in the quest for our best street or drag car.

Re: Turbo/EFI Baja
Right on. I honestly wonder sometimes if i like working on it more than driving it. Although i have to say, my crappy brakes might have been a big factor in that!
How about trying a different route? I always thought a bigger twin scroll with a quick spool valve would be cool. Always have the option of using cheap eBay turbos. I've had 2 so far and have worked pretty well. Although at 30 psi i ruined one original 13t and one cheap Chinese 13t. I don't think they are designed for that sort of over boost.
Or maybe a big turbo and NOS to spool it?!

I may look at a eBay small turbo as an option.buguy wrote:Right on. I honestly wonder sometimes if i like working on it more than driving it. Although i have to say, my crappy brakes might have been a big factor in that!

I’m not sure that a quick spool valve is in my future those things are expensive.
Also a twin scroll would be nice but I would need a new header to take advantage. So cost again.
Cheapest is an eBay turbo and the least wasted time.
