Oil pressure /temperature sensor for Ms3

Post by terryly »

Hi there folks I am now wanting to datalog my oil pressure and temperature using my MS3pro ecu. Any one ever use the Lowdollar motor sports combo
temp/pressure sensors ? https://lowdoller-motorsports.com/colle ... -psi-500-f Are you logging to a stand alone ecu ? What brand sensor are you using ? Any advice ? I am also wanting to log pre intercooler and post intercooler intake air temperatures as well as the IAT sensor in the plenum and will probably just use the GM open air element sensors there. I don"t know if my MS3PRO will have enough inputs for pre/post intercooler tempsand the IAT sensor in the plenum. Need to do some reading in the manual.
Thanks for your thoughts in advance

I run this one for my fuel pressure.

I'm also running the standard GM open temp sensor. (only one though)

Thanks panel think I am going to bite the bullet and try out their pressure /temperature combo sensor. I have pressure and temp sensors installed for the Dakota Digital gauges that I have in the dash and they seem to a be real nice quality product that out put a 0-4.5 v signal. I toyed with just splicing their harness and splitting the signal between gauges and ecu. I was considering this route to avoid putting more sensors in the case. If I had to pick one I would pick the data logging over the gauges as the gauges are hard and unsafe to try and monitor while driving. I am interested if my oil pump pick up ,anti slosh plates and tuna can sump oil mods are doing their job or if the oil accumulator is supplementing the oil pressure during steep inclines or traversing hills sideways. I am hoping with data logging the oil pressure I will be able to detect a pressure drop and then a rise as the accumulator starts supplementing pressure. I have starved rod bearings with a 1- 1/2 " deep sump and no accumulator.
