Hi everyone, I have an almost complete VW 294B tool. Missing is the adapter to put a 4 bolt pinion bearing.
I would appreciate if anyone owning the tool could measure the thickness of that adapter? (outer and inside diameter are easy)
Thanks

I think this is the one..
Does this work?
Fits an early pinion bearing.
There's a few of them here.
Let me know if not,
I can try again.

I assume that tool is in inches, how do you read that? Are the marks 1/32 of an inch? and main scale on the shaft 0.1 inch?

Hi,
I do not have the tool pictured on the left in your photo.
The ring i showed was used successfully to build an early 4-bolt pinion box.

Micrometer is inches.
Numbers at far right are thousandths or .001".
The number that really matters is .196".
You might have to make longer pins the thickness of your spacer ring.
I just made spacers to extend my pins.
It all worked. Box is in my car and does well.
