Well 19 months ago my mineshaft bearing went out. The input shaft coupler broke from this, which resulted in immediate stoppage power of transfer. AAA roll bed back to our garage. I tore it down and found the damage. Saved up some money, and borrowed a pile from my Dad. Sent the trans off to Mike Herbert the head builder at RANCHO. It started as a stock non locker 87. The rebuild has a Peloquin diff, factory locker now, oil plates, bearing retainers, all the usual goodies. TDI starter from Westy Venture. Mike even sold me a good used dash locker console and switch from his personal stash. I fixed a few other things while I was in there. Dropped $8,000 in this turd to get it back on the road but boy it is worth it.
