Coat 4. After it flashes off completely, I will wet sand a little. No, the lid hasn't been body worked, as that was not the intent. It will be covered in like paint and layers so that I can body work the entire car later.

The internet said my paint gun was terrible for auto paint. WRONG! I set it up as my paint buddy told me to and it did great! Almost no drag on the 2000 grit sandpaper. Only flaws were one bug and the lack of body work. Tonight, clear coat!

Three coats of clear. Next up for this lid will be lots and lots of elbow grease! After it cures... 600, 800 and 2000 grit color sand, cut and buff.
1st light coat

2nd wet coat

3rd fog coat

Time to close another on line shop space. Seems most of you are long gone.

I think a lot of us are still around but just not always posting. This is still one of the better sites for info and discussions but not fighting about it at the same time.
For example, while I don't post all the time, I still drop in several times a day.

Disassembly of the rear to get out the old nose cone complete! I had to remove the trunk floor, the rear most truss bar, cut out a nosecone mount and reroute battery wiring, but it is out. Next, clean up and make access holes for the new NC hex bolts to be tightened.

Next, I need to make the transmission mount area removable to put the new nosecone on and make is serviceable in the future (learn as you go). If that all goes well this week, I can start installing the shift rods and removing the old cable mounts.
Wish me luck!

Hoping to have ride height, trans, shifter, rocker and brakes all sorted in 4 weeks. Hopes and dreams!
