Fellas,
seems like I've heard people using chevy pistons for a big bore engine. (around 103mm???) Has anyone heard of this? If so, what pistons are used?
Thanks!

Re: chevy pistons
Most are custom made for the application from 101.6 to 103mm or 4" bore. We have used Venolia, CP and JE just to name a few.
What are you looking to build?

Re: chevy pistons
103mm is 4.060"
4" std bore SBC and many others are 101.6mm...
The issue then becomes getting them in the right pin size, there are a few out there but SBC use a .927" piston pin... which is 23.5mm...
You can probably have the small end on stock T4 rods reamed out for that, or have them rebushed. (the bushings are oversized and thick)
You are going to want better rod bolts for those heavy pistons and rods.
..Then you realize that since you are rebuilding them you can have the big end resized for Dodge 2.4L rod bearings, available in trimetal/coated trimetal and other setups from multiple manufacturers...
About this point you realize the custom "stock" rods you are building will likely cost more than H-beams.
The rabbit hole gets deep (and expensive) quickly unless you own the machine shop.
RIMCO (ages ago) used to offer T4 "super Rods"...rebuild, lighten and shot peen T4 2L rods and install Carrillo bolts/nut for a good price. Worth checking.
Have no idea is that is still a thing, RIMCO has been under new management awhile.

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.

Is EMW still with us?
They might be able to do it as well, they can do a LOT more than their website shows.
