Bosch 007 /071 905 205 vanagon distributor rebuilding /upgrade

Post by K70 »

Hi,
As we found the cause of a problem after a year,
Final push past the post required.
This distributor needs to be fully rebuilt.
OK I haven't done it before but with encouragement etc we can make the finish line.
Also any update or upgrade while it is out of the engine and in bits?
Does it need to go on a distributor machine for the curve checks /altering?

The 123 Distributor is supposed to be pretty good. No personal experience, but that's what I hear

Glenn on TOS rebuilds distributors IIRC, doing it for decades.
Think he's a member here as well.
Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
