Pasco Bug Jam

Post by pascobugjam »

8) It won’t be long before the 18th annual Pasco Bug Jam will be here. Last year’s event drew more than 400 Volkswagens and we, as show organizers, were overwhelmed with the ever-growing response to this charity event.
The Pasco County Fair Association, Inc., a non-profit organization run by volunteers, took over hosting the Bug Jam two years ago and flew solo last year. It was a good show, with the exception of one area --- judging. And that is why I am writing to you.
In an effort to improve our show I want to increase the number of judges. I’m looking for 12 to 15 judges. That would give us three or four that would just judge Bugs. Another three or four would judge buses and so forth.
I have contacted various Volkswagen clubs and have recruited some judges but still need a few more.
We will put the judges up in a motel for two nights and also provide breakfast and lunch at the Bug Jam. The judges can also enter their personal VWs in the show, but they would have to be in a category that they would not be judging.
This year’s Bug Jam is Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Pasco County Fairgrounds in Dade City. Event hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. but show cars will enter as early as 6 a.m. Judging can start as soon as the cars are spotted.
I would like to line the judges up as soon as possible. If you know of any one interested could you have them contact me at 36722 State Road 52, Dade City, FL 33525; or e-mail pascocountyfair@atlantic.net. More information about the Bug Jam is also available on the website: pascobugjam.com.
Thank you in advance for your help in making the 18th annual Pasco Bug Jam bigger and better.

8) We have two clubmembers that have signed up as judges. I think that judging is the most important area that will make or break a car show. I was upset with how things went last year so that is why I volunteered to judge this year. Hopefully a few more people from other VW clubs will step up and help make this years show the best yet.

Please reassure us that the cramed in parking in the vendors arena will be an item of concern this year, too. Limit the amount of vehicles that go to that area to a certain amount. First come first served. It was just to darn crowded last year.

Looking forward to this years show.
