Im slightly new to the VW world and Im trying to get as much info on what I can do to my bug before I acctually do anything.
1. What do I need to lower my 1972 Super? I found a kit on aircooled.net #SSL0011 and I was wondering if that is my only option. I want to go a little lower, just until the lip of the tire is under the fender.
2. If I go with the kit mentioned above, what wheels am I looking at being able to use? It says 17" and I've been fine with the way that those look, but I know nothing about wheels and tires. Im sure Im going to have to change my bolt pattern to a 5-lug, probably Porsche, but who sells it and what are the specs I need to know? e.g. offset, lug spacing, etc. Im looking for a somewhat common lug pattern so that I have more of a variety in wheels, that I can't find with a 4-lug.
3. Sway bars, what do you guys recommend to give a bug the ultimate handaling advantage?
What can I do?

You can get everything you need from www.toplineparts.com. They are the goto people for super beetle suspensions. I would replace all the following at the same time:
new bushings through out, (control arm, pitman arm, swaybar, etc) with urathane replacements. rebuild the steering box, check tie rods/boots.
add-in the Maxx kit with all the goodies, replace the swaybar w/ the larger one from topline, but only do this if you also add a rear 3/4" swaybar, which you will want I'm sure. Add an upper stressbar for the front. Also, if its in the budget, replace the upper strut bushings too, and add some red kyco shocks for the rear... yum.
for wheel/tire combos there are crazy amounts of info on here already that deal with fitment, so do a search to see what you can find.
I like aftermarket wheels personally, you have so many choices in wheels this way. If you you replace your front brakes with the typical ghia discs kit, request a 4x100 or 5x100 bolt pattern, these are for toyota/honda/acura/new vws and more.
So just some general ideas to get you going. be sure to checkout toplineparts.com, good info there.
