Anybody know of any good, easy bolt on upgrades for 914 rear calipers. For example, will any 911 calipers fit on the rear? I have already made several upgrades to the braking system but I am specifically looking to change the calipers. If possible, I would like to retain the e-brake capability.
Thanks,
Steve

You can get a spacer kit to then install vented rear rotors.
You can install 911 rear calipers and bolt on/weld the ebrake shoe setup with lots of work.
Balance is what you want so what front calipers have you installed?
I am running Carrera calipers with vented rotors in front and the stock rears are still fine.

I've got bmw 320 calipers up front with vented rotors. I have everything installed but I am still working on the engine so I haven't got to try the brake out yet. I was planning on running the front as described with completely stock rears, I will have to play with the bias to get everyhting balanced.
I am also not finding many options for rear brake pads. Anybody know of any good pads for stock rears for street/auto-x. Also, if anybody knows of any good pads for the BMW front calipers.
Thanks again,
Steve

Yes, I've known guys that have raced using just the stock rear calipers and the stock bias valve with no problems at all. Back when I raced with the PCA crowd I used the 320i calipers in front since they take the Carrera pads, but in SCCA I had to go back to the stock fronts...rules and all. When I ran the 320i calipers, I just used the stock rears and stock bias valve with no problems.

Stock 914 fronts on the rear balance BMW 2002Ti 4 pots very nicely...
(No pressure limiter, and no adjusting the venting clearance, better feel)
The FRONTS locked up WAY too early with the stock rears, esp in the wet. (and yes, they were working perfectly to start with)
Now no (unusual) issues even on slush/ice.
Needs a ~3mm hardened steel washer to center up properly.
...Parking brake?

Addendum to Newtons first law:
zero vehicles on jackstands, square gets a fresh 090 and 1911, cabby gets a blower.
EZ3.6 Vanagon after that.(mounted, needs everything finished) then Creamsicle.
