The cars came with a sweet looking pair of baby dells (36's) just real nice, new looking.... but they have chokes on em, and real restricitve looking chokes at that. I'm wondering If the chokes can be removed and the carbs be run without any chokes, or if I have to set a pair of chokes in, no matter what...
In other words...... do I need to replace the choke with larger chokes, or can I just remove the chokes all together.......
Will I need to re-jet the carbs, for the new air intake volume?
thanks again

If you are talking about the Venturies (Chokes).
Yes you can run without them if all your gonna run is at wide open throttle all the time, other wise you will need them, they have an engineered lift at the top to help with air flow.
36mm dells will have a small venturi, what size are yours ? 40mm dells come with a 28mm venturi stock I believe.
And yes they will have to be jetted for what ever motor you put them on and which ever venturi you use. But I think you will use what venturies you have after you see what larger ones will cost.

Sorry it took so long to respond, my computer is acting up again....everytime I try to post a reponse, it tells me to log in again, and again, and again........... hopefully this time this repsonse will pass the beauracracy!
I haven't taken a close enough look at the 36 dells yet to know what size venturi's. But, I have a set of weber 40's with 28 chokes, and a set of dell 40's with 32 chokes, and these dell 36's look alot more restricitive.
Maybe I'll try them as is on my 2L, to test em out first before anything.
Oh yes, I understand the cost of the venturi's, even on EBay under venturi/chokes, they cost alot to just be testing out for a nice run.
Thanks type4 Unleashed.
