shift linkage

Post by runslikeapenguin »

my shifting is pretty sloppy and i plan on replacing all the bushings (and getting a shift knob) but before i do that the PO told me that he pulled the engine and trans to replace the clutch and he never got the shift linkage back together right so i wanted to start with that, is there a trick to get this in the right place?

There are instructions for adjusting the shift linkage in the Haynes manual. (For <$20, it's one of the biggest bargains in the 914 world!) You can also find instructions in a Tech Article on the Pelican Parts website, and also in an article written by James "redbeard" Adams. Google on "james adams redbeard pb914 transmission" and you'll find that.
