Auto transmission angle

I have a 73 SB with an auto transaxle. I am getting ready to do a type 4 engine swap. Would there be any problem to changing the the angle that the transaxle is in relation to the car?

I would like to drop the engine about 1 inch and I was wondering if that would effect the transmission or the ring gear, or even shifting? I am trying to make a little room for carboration and air conditioning.

The superbeetle had an autostick...correct? The type 3 auto trans is fully automatic. A little angle should not be too much of an issue. Ray
