I am looking to replace the rubber in my 60 SC. Who makes the best seals?

I have been satisfied with the rubber stuff I have bought from Wolfsburg West. There are many other vendors out there to choose from as well.

I was told to use a German made high quality front window rubber from one vendor. I will do that for sure. I just wanted to find out if there are anything to stay away from??

German rubber wasn't much good when these buses were made, which accounted for a lot of early boot, gasket, and seal failures. Vanagons had the same problems years later, there were certain rubber pieces that barely lasted long enough to get them off the dealers lot. The "cheap" aftermarket windshield gasket I installed on my '74 has lasted many years longer than the original "quality" German one did, and at this point still feels soft and looks good. You want something that fits right, but paying 2 or 3 times as much for German doesn't guaranty that you are getting something even as good.

Talk to the people at your local glass shops. See what brand of rubber they recommend.
