Stainless Steel standard type 4 exhaust .Anyone interested ?

Post by Milky »

Hi,
What demand would there be for a type 4 Bus exhaust rear silencer /muffler for the 1700/1800 and 2ltrs built from Stainless steel ??? .It would be built to exactly the same style as the original and still be able to use heat exchangers. All i have seen advertised is the loud , go faster twin tip efforts that do away with the heat exchangers .
I have contacted a UK specialist Stainless steel exhaust fabricators who build one off systems and they are prepared to build a batch at a reduced price for a bulk order of 5 or over .Price would be approx £325 which i know is a lot of money but the Ernst mild steel systems are £85, have limited life and once rusted ruins the Buses appearance somewhat .
Would really appreciate any feedback on this subject !
Thanks

I know that Frank Condelli was making them for the vanagon, I also thought they (or a partner) made them for the bay window but I don't see it. They are not cheap.
